overview
Tucked in the basement of what must have once been a school in the outskirts of the Garlean capital, the Angry Yan is a light among snow and smoke, a stop-along-the-way for travellers and adventurers.
The lobby is guarded, and open to those that need a place to warm themselves. But some nights the bar opens up - along with the pit - open to locals, travellers, and allies from afar.

The Angry Yan is NOT a sprout-friendly venue. Discussion and roleplay may include elements from and speculation about current MSQ (currently 7.5). We ask for players to refrain from incorperating new patch content for about a month after release to give players a chance to catch up, and 3 months following the upcoming expansion release.We also host Flower's Foundry, a low-spoiler tea shop and fight club located in Ul'dah.

While the Angry Yan (and associated Vault venues) do not permit ERP/NSFW content, we engage with mature and 'dark' themes in FFXIV: substance abuse, violence, systemic oppression, and abuse are (among others) themes that may come up in play.
ooc Roleplay rules
The Angry Yan is intended to be a reasonably grounded lore-adjacent venue. We ask that characters you bring are someone that might come to a 'dive bar in Garlemand', and further, not someone who would immediately cause the locals to riot. This isn't to say that you can't have the echo, or magic, or strange powers- just to respect the setting, tone, and atmosphere of the venue if you do.We're looking to explore the world of XIV through the eyes of average adventurers: those with enough power to strike out in the world and make something of themselves, but not quite powerful enough to shape the world in their image.NOTE: Canon characters are welcome as long as they adhere to the setting and tone of the venue.
Mature themes such as drug use and violence are welcome. ERP and NSFW gposing are not permitted in the bar; keep it out of say chat.
OOC bigotry is not tolerated here <3
Severe maiming and murder require prior discussion with other players, but either may see you banned from the stage- or venue- IC.
Generally speaking, breaking OOC rules will get you banned from the vault venue(s), but breaking IC rules may see your character temporarily banned or ejected from the establishment.
If you wish to adjust parts of a scene for OOC comfort, please /tell a staff member to discuss.

combat rules
We're using the standard grindstone fighting ruleset , with a twist:
Before you fight, you will need to call out your selected "class" of combat.
The classes of combat are
Hand and Blade.
Hand: Anything you were born with, along with any alchemicals you want to consume.Blade: Weapons are allowed, as are any alchemicals you'd like to throw.Pulling a weapon in Hand will get you yanked out of the pit; using magic in either catagory will see you dragged from the bar. Don't make the doctor work more than he has to.

If you have a conflict with someone else in the bar- well, either no, you don't, or you take it to the pit.
Any attempts to start a fight outside the pit will be penalized.
Any attempts to carry on a fight after you've left the pit will be penalized.
Any attempts to kill someone in the pit will be penalized. Do not make me come down there.
Keep your attitude in check. We're all here for a good time; don't make us drag you out.
Keep your clothes on at the bar. Nobody wants to see that- and we aren't burning enough fuel down here to stop you from freezing your tackle off.
